Election 2008: What Will Happen to Michigan Nonprofits and the Issues we Support?

Election day is fast approaching, and individuals across our state are wondering how the election will affect the work they do and the communities in which they live.

Want the experts' opinion on how the 2008 Election will affect the issues that nonprofits care about? Come to Nonprofit Day 2008 on September 24 at the Lansing Center!

The Luncheon Plenary at Nonprofit Day will feature a panel of experts on state politics and issues of relevance to the nonprofit community, including such topics as the state budget, recruitment of talent, health care and economic development. Panelists will examine how these issues will fare during the election season and into the new year. This session, moderated by Craig Ruff of Public Sector Consultants, will include the following panel members: Don Gilmer, former House Appropriations Chair and former State Budget Director; Jeannine La Prad, Corporation for a Skilled Workforce; John "Joe" Schwarz, former member of Congress and former Michigan State Senator; and Diana Sieger, Grand Rapids Community Foundation.
