Strengthening Communities through Service
May 24 and 25, 2004
Amway Grand Plaza and DeVoss Center
Grand Rapids, MI
Welcome!
We are pleased to present the Volunteerism SuperConference
2004, the fifth edition of Michigan’s premier nonprofit
conference.
Michigan’s
nonprofit organizations are significantly challenged to meet
community needs in a time of scarce resources,
expanding
requests for services and increased demand for accountability
by funders and other stakeholders. This is a time for leaders
to continue
to recognize the value of investing resources in building
the capacity of their organizations to engage community resources
in meeting
their mission.
This
year’s conference theme is Strengthening Communities
through Service. Workshops, plenary speakers,
exhibits and a bookstore will focus on building attendees’ knowledge
and skills in volunteer program administration, financial
resource
development, nonprofit management and evaluation.
Specific
tracks of workshops have been identified to assure that model
programs, and nuts and bolts sessions are focused
on areas of interest to attendees. Significant opportunities
for networking
have been structured into the conference schedule.
The goal is to provide participants with opportunities to engage
informally
with peers, share lessons and learn to develop
new collaborations.
Exhibits, software demonstrations and a bookstore will
provide attendees with information on emerging resources.
We invite
you to register for two days of learning, sharing and renewal
that will provide you the tools and
energy to continue
the
task of improving Michigan’s communities.
Sincerely,
Chris Nelson
