Health Vision and Dental Insurance
Healthy nonprofits need healthy people. Through MNA’s Healthy Nonprofits program, members gain access to more affordable and richer health care benefits than they could access individually. With both Priority Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance opportunities available, our members can keep their staff and organization healthy, and attract and retain the workforce talent needed to move the sector forward.
Retirement Planning
Mutual of America has been providing quality retirement plan products and services to nonprofits for more than 50 years. MNA members access a full range of retirement plan products, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans. Mutual of America offers a full service approach that includes both administrative and investment services.
Payroll Services
Through MNA’s program with ADP Small Business Services, members receive discounted rates on Tax, Payroll and HR services. This program continues to help members reduce expenses, eliminate manual tasks, and allocate resources toward their programming.
Risk Management Policy Assistance
MNA’s My Risk Management Policies portal has been developed as an easy-to-use online resource for members to create clear, concise and customized risk management policies in just minutes. Creating the many policies provided by this resource, including conflict of interest and record retention policies, will save valuable staff time and effectively reduce a nonprofit’s exposure to risk.
Workers' Compensation Insurance
Michigan nonprofit employers are required to cover workers with workers' compensation insurance if they regularly employ three or more workers at one time; or during the preceding 52 weeks, they have regularly employed at least one worker for 35 hours or more per week for 13 weeks or longer. This endorsed program through Retailers Mutual helps MNA Members can save money while they meet these requirements.
Unemployment Insurance
Through the 501 Alliance, MNA members gain access to affordable rates on unemployment insurance. An alternative to the Michigan Unemployment Agency, the experience rated members of the 501 Alliance typically pay a rate that’s 50% less than the state’s average tax rate. Additionally, MNA members receive a $100 credit toward their first contribution payment by completing and returning the application from our Web site to the 501 Alliance program.
Director & Officer Liability and Employment Practices Liability Insurance
Nonprofit organizations in Michigan need D & O Insurance to help ensure that directors and officers are not held personally liable for actions associated with board action or failure to take action. Employment Practices liability coverage protects your organization and its people from employment related litigation. MNA has long partnered with Lyman & Sheets Agency, who provides affordable policies, risk management training and one-on-one customer support for MNA members to protect their organizational image.
Credit Card Processing
MNA, in partnership with Midwest Transaction Group, offers a card processing plan so members can realize greater returns from credit card purchases and credit card donations. With the MTG plan, members pay no monthly processing fees and low transaction rates.

Free Telecom Audit
MNA has partnered with Abilita to offer Members a free audit of all voice and data services. Abilita conducts the risk free audit of all Local, Long Distance, Internet, and Cellular services with their proprietary software. Audits are conducted on a quarterly basis and have saved members 30% on total expenses.
Public Policy Alerts
To protect the interest of our members, MNA engages in public policy initiatives, acting as a unified voice for nonprofits in Michigan.
