Kyle Caldwell

Kyle's picture.Kyle Caldwell is the President and CEO of the Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA). MNA increases the capacity of Michigan’s nonprofits to serve, strengthen and transform communities. MNA is home to a number of important organizations and programs including its affiliates, Michigan Campus Compact, NPower Michigan and the Volunteer Centers of Michigan. MNA also supports innovative programs including LEAGUE Michigan, Michigan’s Promise and several national service initiatives.  Through the ConnectMichigan Alliance Endowment, MNA also enhances these organizations in their efforts to promote service and volunteering where Michigan residents live, work and learn.

Kyle served as the President and CEO of the ConnectMichigan Alliance (CMA), a statewide organization which promotes and strengthens a life-long ethic of service and civic engagement through the support of community building initiatives. CMA merged with MNA in 2007. Kyle has worked in the public and private sectors including serving both Governors Engler and Granholm as the Executive Director of the Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) - a state agency that builds a culture of service by providing vision and resources to strengthen communities through volunteerism. Prior to his time at the MCSC, Kyle was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Olivet College, a small liberal arts college with a mission of "Individual and Social Responsibility" for its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees. While at Olivet, Kyle created the Leadership Awards program that highlighted leaders in the public, private, and social sectors who exemplified the values of the college.

Kyle serves on the boards of a number of  state and national  nonprofit organizations including: National Council of Nonprofit Associations;  America's Promise: Alliance for Youth Trustees Committee; Starr Commonwealth; Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation; Learning To Give-Michigan; Michigan Civics Education Coalition; Service Learning United; Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center; Voices for National Service; and Western Michigan University School of Communication Alumni Academy.

Kyle holds both a bachelors and masters degree from Western Michigan University where he studied organizational communication. Kyle is married with two children. The Caldwells reside in Augusta, Michigan.
