The Nonprofit Entrepreneur
The notion of a nonprofit entrepreneur draws on a 1930's economist's definition of an entrepreneur as "an innovator who efficiently combines resources and makes technical improvements." The volunteers, staff, supporters, and in some cases the clients of an entrepreneurial nonprofit, driven by commitment to the cause rather than the profit motive, will constantly seek to improve its impact by exploring and implementing different ways of working.
