Teaming Up: Merger of Visions

Ms. Nunn will discuss the need for collaboration and integration to sustain our sector and work, reflecting on the recent merger of Points of Light & Hands On Network.

Ms. Nunn will conduct a book signing of Be The Change in the exhibitor space, Banquet Rooms 1-8, following her presentation. Copies of Be The Change can be purchased at the conference bookstore.

Breakfast Plenary: Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Featured Speaker: Leslie Crutchfield and Heather McLeod Grant, co-authors of Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits

Forces for Good

Ms. Crutchfield and Ms. McLeod Grant will lead us in a discussion regarding new research from their book, current activity of Michigan nonprofits, and strategies for success. The authors will explore Six Myths that fly in the face of conventional wisdom. Plenary participants will also have the opportunity to weigh in on the current state of Michigan nonprofits. The results of electronic voting will be compiled and shared in a white paper later this summer.

Ms. Crutchfield and Ms. McLeod Grant will conduct a book signing of Forces for Good in the exhibitor space, Banquet Rooms 1-8, following their presentation.

Each of the Six Practices will be explored more indepth individually at facilitated group discussions following the plenary session, where Michigan nonprofits will share their experience and recommendations for success!
