Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence

Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Michigan is designed as a support mechanism for nonprofit management and governance, providing a framework for nonprofit self-assessment and planning. Ten Guiding Principles are supported by "recommended practices" for nonprofit accountability and excellence.

Principles and Practices is not an accreditation or certification process, and is not intended as a report-card. Its intention is to set a high standard for nonprofits to reach for, and provide some building blocks to help them get there.

Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Michigan is adapted in part from Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence developed by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits © MCN 2004, and used with permission.
