Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the frontline liaison with our project partner sites (15-20 disaster resilience hubs across Detroit) and lead our efforts to support their community outreach and events
  • Design and facilitate meetings with project partners for relationship building, peer learning, energy education, etc.
  • Support the planning and implementation of community events at our partner sites (energy and resource fairs, education events, celebrations, and more)
  • Represent Michigan IPL in meetings with partners

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working with or coordinating a network desired
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral)
  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit program work
  • Demonstrated ability to center justice and equity in your analysis and work
  • Strong computer skills and ability to grasp new software and virtual platforms (critical to our ability to collaborate remotely)
  • Relevant language skills (especially Spanish, Arabic or other languages spoken in Detroit) are desirable

Benefits: 

  • 3 weeks paid vacation (additional vacation earned with tenure), 5 days personal time, 12 paid holidays per year (including 4 floating holidays)

Location: 

  • While our day to day work is primarily remote, you must live in the metro Detroit area and attend in-person meetings and events several times a month. 
  • Some travel within and beyond Michigan may be required.
