About Challenge Mountain of Walloon Hills, Inc.
Established in 1984 as a nonprofit organization, Challenge Mountain (CM) was the first independent adaptive skiing program in northern Michigan. Each year, CM connects children, youth and adults living with disabilities to life-enhancing recreational opportunities including adaptive skiing, equine therapy, ropes challenge course, adaptive biking, sailing and Spirit Day Camp. CM programs are centered on having fun, making and sustaining friendships, building confidence and independence. Individuals of all ages and abilities can take part in CM programs, including those living with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities. Challenge Mountain strives to ensure that cost is not a barrier, and thanks to the support of community and private foundations, individual and corporate donors and income generated through the CM Resale Store, our programs are offered at little or no cost to participants and their families.
