Kelley Kuhn

Kelley Kuhn

President and CEO

Kelley Kuhn (she/her) is the President and CEO of Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), a role where she leads efforts to support and empower nonprofits and the communities they serve. She is dedicated to ensuring nonprofits have the necessary resources to fulfill their missions and drive positive change in Michigan. “A solid and resourced nonprofit sector makes the world a better place and my mission is to ensure all nonprofits have access to capital, human and other resources they need to deliver on their missions,” said Kelley.

Nonprofits also need safety nets, and Kelley aims to be the fuel that helps keep all nonprofit programs moving forward here in Michigan.

Beckie Hawes-Baggett

Chief Operating Officer

Beckie (she/her) serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), where she provides strategic leadership across MNA’s business and finance functions. Her responsibilities include overseeing accounting, budgeting, human resources, and grants management.

Joan M. Gustafson

Joan M. Gustafson

External Affairs Officer

Joan Gustafson (she/her) is the External Affairs Officer for the Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA).

Joan is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive public affairs and civic engagement strategy for the organization. Previously, she spearheaded the communication and government affairs efforts for the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI). Prior to joining IFPTI, Joan was the Regional Director of West Michigan for Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and served as the Governor’s liaison and ombudsman for the region.

In 2022, Joan joined the Leadership Council of Nonprofit VOTE, the leading source of nonpartisan resources to help nonprofits integrate voter engagement into their ongoing activities and services.

Tammy Pitts

Chief Communications Officer

Tammy Pitts (she/her) is the Chief Communications Officer at Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA). She is responsible for all external communications, marketing, and media relations strategy and execution across the organization. Tammy has an extensive background in journalism, media relations, social media strategy, marketing and brand management.

Nellie Tsai

Nellie Tsai

Social Innovation Officer

As Social Innovation Officer, Nellie Tsai (she/her) leads Michigan Nonprofit Association’s commitment and strategy to be an equitable, and inclusive organization. Working across the organization she helps lead initiatives that innovate and improve MNA’s core services.

Nellie previously served as the Community and Civic Engagement Director at MNA. In this capacity, she was the Deputy Campaign Manager for the Michigan Nonprofits Count Campaign, a collaborative, coordinated, statewide effort to mobilize nonprofits across the state to encourage participation in the upcoming 2020 census.

Prior to this role, Nellie led MNA’s K-12 civic leadership program that connected youth to community causes and issues. Her past work experiences include leadership roles in charter school operations, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit development, and program management.

David Boone

David Boone

Nonprofit Tech Specialist

David Boone is the Helpdesk Manager at Michigan Nonprofit Association. With experience across various industries including banking, real estate, and technology, David brings a wealth of expertise to his role. He has a strong foundation in IT, which he transformed from a personal hobby into a fulfilling career.

David began his journey at MNA as a contractor and is now a permanent team member. He is responsible for managing tech-related queries and providing support on the helpdesk.

Stephanie Deible

Stephanie Deible

Program & Partnership Manager

Stephanie Deible (she/her) is the Program and Partnership Manager at MNA, where she plays a key role in designing, managing, and evolving MNA programs. She is dedicated to strengthening the voice and leadership of the nonprofit sector.

Stephanie brings a passion for nonprofits, education, and advocacy to her work. Before joining MNA, she served as the Community Inclusion Specialist for Disability Network West Michigan where she led initiatives to improve access for individuals with disabilities.

She also previously served as the Executive Director of Ms. Wheelchair America, Inc., focusing on empowering individuals with disabilities by enhancing their leadership and advocacy skills.

Erecenia Friday

Membership Manager

Erecenia Friday (she/her) is the Membership Manager at Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA). In this role, she manages membership cultivation and retention, network growth, customer service strategy, and sales.

Erecenia is passionate about sustainable living and eco-friendly practices. She made the decision to incorporate environmentally friendly products into her home and this commitment inspired the launch of Breathe Green, a successful non-toxic cleaning company, which she ran from 2009 to 2022.

With a strong background in fundraising, marketing, and communications, Erecenia has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly two decades.

Annie Hamaty

Public Policy & Government Relations Manager

Annie Hamaty (she/her) is the Public Policy & Government Relations Manager at MNA, where she brings expertise in public policy and advocacy.

Annie’s professional experience includes roles with the Executive Office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer, the Office of U.S. Senator Gary Peters, Rock the Vote, the Smithsonian Institution’s Office of Global Affairs, and the MSU Museum. Annie is passionate about uplifting the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) and adoptee communities.

Technology Director, MNA Technology Services

Adam (he/him) is the Director of Information Technology Services at Michigan Nonprofit Association, where he oversees the promotion, development, and implementation of IT services for nonprofits statewide. He leads the MNA Tech team, providing strategic IT support and ensuring the smooth operation of services for nonprofit organizations.

Tearsa-Joi Lee

Network Analyst | MNA Tech

Tearsa-Joi Lee (she/her) is a Nonprofit Network Analyst at Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), where she applies her technical expertise to support the MNA Tech team. With over 4 years of experience in digital marketing, analytics, cybersecurity, and quality assurance, Tearsa-Joi has a strong foundation in tech support.

Alex Silva Santos

Alex Silva Santos

IT Systems and Consulting Manager, MNA Technology Services

Alex (he/him) serves as the IT Systems and Consulting Manager at MNA Technology Services, where he leads the charge in providing tailored IT support to nonprofit clients. With a strong background in technical support, Alex previously worked as a Technical Support Engineer at Tek Experts, where he ensured exceptional customer service and user satisfaction.

His ability to solve complex technical challenges while maintaining a client-first mindset makes him an invaluable asset to both MNA and its nonprofit clients.
