Statement by MNA on Mass Shooting at Michigan State University
Today, we’re reeling from yet another mass shooting –once again in our own backyard. We are shocked and heartbroken by the heinous massacre at Michigan State University just 15 months after the tragedy at Oxford. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives tragically, along with those who were injured and traumatized by this senseless violence.
Many of us are grieving and it’s ok– to not be ok. We acknowledge that there is a need for change. We shouldn’t have to live this way. It’s not ok.
We are grateful for the bravery and quick actions of our local law enforcement and medical community here in Lansing. We stand in solidarity with the Spartan community–our community.
