At its core, civic engagement is people coming together to improve their community’s quality of life. From organizing volunteer activities to encouraging voter participation, engaged communities are crucial in shaping a better future.
On November 20, 2024, Michigan Nonprofit Association, alongside the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF), will host a Civic and Community Engagement Summit in Detroit.
This gathering builds on critical conversations we are having in the charitable sector about the importance of centering community voices and ensuring a healthy democracy where all can participate.
The summit comes at an important time, following the 2024 election cycle. This gathering will bring together nonprofit and community leaders to discuss the vital role of community building during such times, the importance of their impactful work, and ways to support our democracy.
The summit will offer a platform for those dedicated to civic engagement to collaborate, foster supportive relationships, and exchange valuable insights.
We hope to see you in Detroit next month!
