MNA Membership: What's Changing

MNA Membership: What's Changing

MNA is moving to a values-based membership model that better reflects who we are as a community and how we support our members. It’s designed to be more intentional, more flexible, and more aligned with what organizations actually need. Members will continue to get core benefits, but the experience is more tailored. That includes access to programs like the health plan, along with resources, support, and opportunities that align more closely with your organization’s goals.

At the end of the day, we don’t want membership to feel like just paying for access. It’s really about shared values, working more closely together, and offering opportunities for connection for organizations like yours.

If you’re a current member, you’ll start at the Connector level. This includes many of the same benefits you had when you first joined, along with a few additional opportunities, like submitting events to MNA’s calendar and participating in the Public Policy Advisory Council. Overall, you’ll still have access to much of what you’re used to, just with a bit more structure around how benefits are offered.

You can move between membership levels at the time of your renewal. That gives you a chance to look back at how you’ve used your benefits and decide if a different level might be a better fit going forward.

Membership runs on a rolling basis, so your start and end dates are tied to when you join rather than a fixed calendar cycle.

Membership level changes happen at renewal, so you wouldn’t be able to upgrade mid-year. At that point, you can take a look at how you’ve used your benefits and decide if moving to a different level makes sense for the next term.

No, membership and health plan costs are separate. Membership gives you access to the plan, but pricing for coverage is determined independently.

Yes, you can absolutely remain a member without joining the health plan. Membership still offers value on its own.
