Education, Experience and Skills

 A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

  • Accounting skills and a minimum of three years of experience in relevant office settings.
  • Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with annual audit process.
  • Knowledge of financial software; MIP Fund Accounting preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with investments accounting is a plus but not required.
  • Must have desire and ability to work in a team

 Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record and process payables, including grants, invoices and expense reimbursements.
  • Monitor cash balances, project cash needs, and suggest transfer of funds as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate support documentation for all disbursements.
  • Assure proper recording of all cash receipts and reconcile with IOLTA and donor database.
  • Maintain appropriate support documentation for all cash receipts.
  • Review and reconcile monthly bank and credit card
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for review by CFO.
  • Ensure general ledger accounts are accurately maintained and reconciled.
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Assist with preparation of Form 990 documentation.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and decisions regarding administrative expense
  • Review and approve bi-weekly payroll submission.
  • Work closely with the CFO regarding financial questions or concerns.
