Director of Development - Capital Campaign
Many Hands Lifesharing Community | SE Michigan | $120,000–$150,000 + exceptional benefits
Many Hands Lifesharing Community is building something rare: a first-of-its-kind lifesharing community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, grounded in dignity, purpose, and belonging, and backed by a bold $35M capital initiative. We are seeking a senior development leader who produces results, not just plans them. This role carries clear accountability for fundraising progress, momentum, and outcomes.
This position is designed for a development director who thrives with accountable autonomy, someone who sees an engaged founder as a strategic advantage, not an obstacle, and who is confident in shaping donor strategy, sequencing asks, and recommending “next moves” that lead to commitments. You will be expected to actively drive dollars raised while also building the systems, partnerships, and campaign infrastructure that sustain long-term success. This is not a back-office role: it is a visible, externally facing leadership position with ownership of performance. Significant capital campaign experience required, with proven success in raising major gifts and managing multi-year fundraising initiatives.
Many Hands offers a rare environment for a high-caliber producer: with a full-time development assistant, a strong donor website, support from professional social media resources, a two-year contracted lobbyists relationship, experienced grant writers, and an engaged board/advisory team, allowing you to focus on what matters most: cultivating relationships, closing major commitments, and advancing a transformational campaign. If you are entrepreneurial, disciplined, and energized by measurable outcomes, and want your work to directly shape a legacy community, this role was built for you.
