The Saginaw County Youth Protection Council is a non-profit organization that was established in 1962. We are the lead agency providing shelter and supportive services for runaway and homeless youth and homeless young parent headed families. We are also the designated Youth Tobacco Act compliance testing agency in Saginaw County and provide robust substance abuse prevention services. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary CEO/President to lead our organization to new heights. As the CEO/President, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our non-profit organization's operations and driving strategic growth initiatives. This is a senior leadership position that requires exceptional business acumen, strong financial management skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

Duties:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to all departments, ensuring effective collaboration and communication
- Drive business development efforts to expand our market presence and identify new opportunities for growth
- Manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, and federal/state/local/private funders
- Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
- Lead by example, embodying our core values and setting a high standard for ethical conduct

Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as a CEO or President
- Strong business acumen with a track record of driving organizational success
- Exceptional strategic planning skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management and budgeting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure

Further specific job requirements follow:

Bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree in human services or other relevant field

  •         Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a human service agency
  •         Minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising employees

Candidates must provide a cover letter and resume that fully address the job requirements above and the following skills:

  • Grant writing, contract management and fiscal reporting:
  • Discuss years of experience managing grant funded programs, award amounts of the contracts managed, and who the funder (HHS, HUD, MDHHS, CDBG, etc.) of the grants was and what the purpose of the grants were
  • Discuss your role in the grant writing process for the contracts listed in your response to the first bullet under grant writing
  • Collaboration:
  • Discuss years of experience
  • Types of collaborations in which you have been involved
  • Role in the collaboration
  • How the collaboration worked on community goals
  • Knowledge of needs and complex trauma of youth, and understanding of secondary trauma for staff working with vulnerable people:
  • Discuss years of experience working with youth with complex trauma
  • Discuss the impact of secondary trauma on staff
  • Discuss strategies to assist youth and staff with trauma exposure
