Friends of Rouge Park (FORP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, restoring, and promoting
Rouge Park, Detroit’s largest park. As a vital natural resource for the city, Rouge Park is a vibrant public space
that serves as a destination for outdoor recreation, a haven for wildlife and a community gathering place. We
collaborate with the city, numerous community organizations, both in and surrounding the park, and residents
to foster stewardship, facilitate programming, and ensure the park thrives for generations to come.
As Rouge Park celebrates its 100th anniversary, exciting transformations are underway, including a City-led
master planning process and a new era of growth for our organization. We recently welcomed our first
Executive Director after over two decades of board-led leadership, and we are expanding our team to increase
impact and better serve park users.
We’re seeking a passionate and creative Communications & Engagement Coordinator to help tell the story
of Rouge Park and deepen our connection with partners and the community. Working closely with the
Executive Director, this role will focus on the development and execution of communications strategies,
strengthen community outreach, and support fundraising efforts. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a
small, collaborative team working to elevate Detroit’s green spaces and inspire stewardship.
Submit a resume, cover letter, and three professional references to Lindsay Pielack, Lindsay@rougepark.org.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
