Michigan State University Advancement is seeking a Philanthropic Agreement Strategist to join our Advancement Services team.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed work, thoughtful communication, and helping ensure donor commitments are documented with care, accuracy, and integrity. The Philanthropic Agreement Strategist serves as a key partner to University Development staff by supporting the creation, review, and evaluation of new and revised gift agreements. This position helps ensure donor intent is clearly understood and that legal, financial, and administrative responsibilities are appropriately reflected in gift documentation.
In this role, you will work closely with development colleagues, university partners, and the Office of the General Counsel to provide guidance on agreement language, endowment processing, documentation, and data integrity. The position also supports training, reporting, endowment tracking, and agreement storage across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing and grammar skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience with legal or contractual documents, higher education, nonprofit work, endowment management, or executive-level administrative support would be especially helpful.
