The successful candidate will be well versed in current fundraising trends, methods and best practices and demonstrated success working with $10,000+ donors. The Director of Development will work very closely with the President & CEO as well as the Development Committee of the Board. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of institutional fundraising with a comprehensive program and a savvy understanding of social media as an engagement tool.
The Director of Development must demonstrate a verifiable track record working with corporate and community volunteers as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate must be comfortable with face-to-face solicitations and prospect cultivation best practices as well as building effective working relationships with Board leadership. The Director of Development will also be responsible for understanding the depth and breadth of JASEM’s programs and work collaboratively with program and marketing staff.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with critical and strategic thinking, creativity, attention to detail and the ability to manage goals and objectives without supervision. Capital Campaign planning and execution will be considered and asset as well as a proven track record of continued career progression demonstrating increasing responsibilities and a willingness to travel throughout the metropolitan Detroit region and a self-startaner spirit are required
