Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Systems and Support (35%)
- Maintain accurate donor records in RAC's CRM (Bloomerang)
- Manage gift entry, tax letters, acknowledgements, and stewardship communications
- Assist with donor mailings and reporting
- Conduct regular check-ins with Operations Manager to ensure alignment between QuickBooks and Bloomerang
- Track fundraising metrics such as donor retention, campaign results, and revenue goals
- Maintain a clean and organized database
- Comfortability with learning new technologies
Individual and Institutional Giving (30%)
- Support cultivation and stewardship of individual donors (excluding major donors)
- Manage annual giving campaigns and smaller-scale appeals
- Support grant writing efforts in collaboration with the Operations Manager and the ED
- Assist in identifying and cultivation corporate sponsorships
- Explore, recommend, and assist in implementing new fundraising opportunities, campaigns, or strategies that align with RAC's sustainability goals and diversify funding sources
Board and Community Engagement (15%)
- Provide administrative support to the Advancement Committee and assist with board fundraising efforts
- Partner with RAC's Board of Directors and volunteers on donor cultivation events
- Represent RAC at community events, strengthening relationships with local partners and supporters
Communications and Storytelling (10%)
- Collaborate with RAC's Communications Manager to align fundraising messages with program impact stories
- Draft donor facing content such as newsletters, thank-you letters, and social media updates related to fundraising campaigns
Other tasks (10%)
- Provide general support to Executive Director and Operations Manager as needed
- Take on additional fundraising and development-related tasks as assigned to meet organizational needs
Qualifications
Required
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the role of the arts in community wellbeing
- At least 2 years of nonprofit fundraising, development, or related experience
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide excellent donor service
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a small team environment
- Flexible and cooperative approach with an emphasis on being a supportive team player
Preferred
- Experience with donor management systems (Bloomerang, Salesforce, etc.)
- Knowledge of Southeast Michigan's arts and nonprofit environment
- Comfort working in a small, collaborative nonprofit environment
Working Environment
This is a full-time role based in Ypsilanti, with some flexibility for remote work. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for donor engagement or community events. RAC values creativity, flexibility, and collaboration in its team culture. Percentage of time spent in each category may vary depending on time of year and changing organizational priorities.
