2024 Comp & Benefits Report

2024 Michigan Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Report

Compensation is typically the biggest expense for nonprofit organizations, so creating a well-structured compensation package—covering salaries, wages, and benefits—is crucial for success. Every two years, Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) publishes updated key compensation data to assist with these decisions. Buyers will receive a download link for the report via email once the purchase is approved. (Be sure to check your spam or junk folders in case the email ends up there.)

The 2024 Michigan Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Report includes information on more than 100 specific nonprofit job titles within the state of Michigan.  These positions range from administrative support to senior executives. The salary and benefit information are comprised of responses from a self-reported survey conducted from March - May 2024.

Information from this report can be used to help nonprofit organizations calculate raises, find the market value for specific positions, and retain or recruit employees. The 2024 Michigan Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Report seeks to serve as a representative sample of the large nonprofit community within Michigan.

This report includes graphs depicting the demographic makeup of participants in areas including county, budget size, staff size, staff demographics, and organization category. A robust benefits section is also included, which details nonprofit organizations’ behavior when offering employee benefits. Weighted average salaries and bonuses for each job title (with enough responses) are provided, cross tabulated by state region, budget size, staff size and organization on category.
