Michigan’s Nonprofit Council for Charitable Trusts Welcomes Three New Members

Lansing, MI — March 25, 2025 — Michigan’s Nonprofit Council for Charitable Trusts is proud to announce the approval of three new members, further strengthening its commitment to supporting and guiding the state’s nonprofit sector.

The new members bring diverse expertise and a shared passion for enhancing charitable efforts across Michigan:

  • Maud Lyon, Principal, Maud Lyon & Associates
  • Richard Mills, Senior Counsel, Smith, Haughey, Rice & Roegge
  • Kellie Ray, Partner, Plante Moran

“We’re thrilled to welcome these accomplished leaders to the Council,” said Kelley Kuhn, president and CEO of Michigan Nonprofit Association.

“Each new member brings invaluable knowledge and experience that will help us continue empowering nonprofits, promoting accountability, and ensuring charitable resources make a lasting impact throughout Michigan.”

The Nonprofit Council for Charitable Trusts serves as an unofficial advisory body to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, providing insights and recommendations on policies, trends, and best practices affecting the state’s charitable sector. The Council supports transparency, ethical practices, and the sustainability of Michigan’s nonprofits.

Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), in partnership with Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) and Michigan Association of United Ways (MAUW) created the Nonprofit Council for Charitable Trusts (NCCT) in January 2004.
