Today is International Women’s Day and we’re celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women globally.

Internationalwomensday

I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside strong women here at Michigan Nonprofit Association. They are:  Donna Murray-Brown. Kelley Kuhn. Joan Gustafson. Beckie Hawes-Baggett. Sarah-Grace Battles. Jamie Lewis. Kerri Long. Meridith Murley. Caleigh Noonan. Sarah Pinder. Nellie Tsai. Mariana Martinez.

Change comes from challenge and that is the theme for International Women’s Day 2021. “A challenged world is an alert world. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality,” says the organizers of the annual event.

And as we take a moment to pause and reflect on the successes of women, let us remember that there is still a lot of work to be done to achieve gender equity. Make a commitment today to get involved so that we can live in a more gender equal nation.  To learn more about International Women’s Day, visit here.

Before you go, take a minute to watch the video where Nellie, Mariana, and I talk about the strong women who raised us.
