The MNA Member Health Plan was created in response to what nonprofit organizations have been asking for over many years, which is better, more affordable health plan options that help them attract and keep great staff. By bringing organizations together, the plan helps increase buying power and reduce some of the administrative complexity that often comes with offering benefits. It is designed specifically for mission-driven groups, with the goal of lowering costs while also supporting long-term stability so organizations can stay focused on the work that matters most.
MNA is proud to work with Gallagher to manage our plans and enrollment for our members. If you're interested in learning more, including what rates might look like for your organization, you'll work directly with a member of Gallagher's team. They'll help you evaluate your options and make sure you're getting the most out of your investment in health benefits.
The plan works with a trusted Michigan-based partner, Priority Health, which brings a strong network and deep local experience, offering strong, reliable coverage.
While the MNA Member Health Plan is available exclusively to MNA members, nonprofits do not need to be MNA members to explore options. Any nonprofit may request information, complete the questionnaire, and go through the underwriting process to receive a rate quote. Organizations only need to become MNA members if they decide to enroll in the plan.

Yes, you do need to be a 501(c)(3) to take part in the health care pool.
Each organization in the MNA Member Health Plan is rated individually by Priority Health, so rates will vary based on factors like demographics, enrollment, and the plan you choose. With 17 different plan options, ranging from basic to more comprehensive coverage, pricing is tailored to fit each organization rather than a single standard rate.
Once we receive everything we need from your organization - like the signed ROI form and employee census - Priority Health’s underwriting team can usually have your rates ready in about 10 business days.
Any nonprofit, regardless of MNA membership status, may request information from Gallagher, complete the questionnaire, and go through the underwriting process to receive a rate quote. MNA membership is only required if an organization decides to enroll in the MNA Member Health Plan.
No, membership and health plan costs are separate. Membership gives you access to the plan, but pricing for coverage is determined independently.
Yes. Organizations with as few as two employees are eligible to participate in the MNA Member Health Plan. If you're not sure whether your organization meets the eligibility requirements, we encourage you to complete the questionnaire and connect with Gallagher to explore your options.
Maybe. Whether you can keep your current doctor depends on the health plan you select and whether your provider participates in that plan's network. We're happy to help you determine whether a specific provider is covered during the plan selection process. Generally speaking, Priority Health's network includes all hospitals in Michigan's Lower Peninsula and approximately 90% of primary care providers across the state.
