Regional Director - Southeast Michigan

The SOURCE is a non-profit organization which works with employees of member companies to connect and maximize community resources. We focus on reducing barriers to employment and promoting economic security and career progression. This role would be located in Southeast Michigan. 

Job Summary:

The Regional Director plays a critical role in leading the external partnerships with business members, potential business members, and community-based organizations; while constantly looking for new opportunities for innovative programming that adds value to members. They will lead the internal integration of new business members, programs and grants into the daily operation of The SOURCE.

The Regional Director acts as a face of The SOURCE in the assigned geographic region and works in collaboration with the President & CEO and members of the leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:

This position will report to the President & CEO and will handle the following duties including, but not limited to:

Business Development

  • Lead regional employer member development including the process from prospective, providing membership quotes, signed MOU, to onboarding.
  • Seek out opportunities to engage with potential employer partners such as community events (Chamber, Economic Development, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the President & CEO, and bring them in as necessary to drive new membership and partnerships.
  • Support the organization in creating innovative methods to expand programming and increase the reach of The SOURCE.

Member Engagement

  • Support the President & CEO in the execution of an employer engagement strategy.
  • Lead the onboarding process of new employer partners by working with HR teams to roll out Source services.
  • Assist resource navigators with building a relationship with HR leads and connecting with leaders to promote the Source services.
  • Lead regular supervisor training sessions to all employer members for continued education and promotion purposes.
  • Integrate initiatives through planning and aligning internal resources and processes.
  • Cultivates new and existing relationships with local employers for the development of innovative and customized training and employment programs.

Community Engagement

  • Cultivate relationships with community agencies to benefit the organization and clients.
  • Connect with community agencies to explore opportunities to partner that are mutually beneficial and aligned with The SOURCE’s mission and strategy.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to share about The SOURCE to be seen as a thought leader in Workforce Development.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the local staff for their community engagement ensuring key information is being shared back.

Supervision

  • Supervise and mentor resource navigator/ program manager staff.
  • Supervise grant writing and management duties of program manager staff and/or contracted staff.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, seek out resources and trainings that benefit staff development.
  • Onboard new staff and monitor training.
  • Monitor case quality.

Education and Experience: 

  • Four-year college degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, or similar preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience with direct service casework preferred
  • Prior successful grant writing experience preferred
  • Prior program launch and implementation experience preferred
  • Prior supervision experience preferred

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Google sites and Internet. 
  • Strong empathy skills, experience to problem solve complex issues, ability to communicate across many stakeholder groups. 
  • Excellent ability to multi-task, organize and work with a degree of ambiguity. 
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Weekly short-distance travel via personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) to member companies and/or community engagement. Insurable driving record required.  
  • Ability to perform role with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Compensation & Benefits:

$70,000 - $85,000 starting salary
