Director of Product Program

Position Summary:

The Director of Product Program is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of the Girl Scout fall sale program and the Girl Scout cookie program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruit, train, and supervise staff amongst multiple work locations, including hiring, onboarding, developing annual work plans, conducting performance evaluations, and providing daily supervision.
  2. Monitor product program income and expenses to ensure programs are within the council's approved budget.
  3. Work with product program vendors to obtain best practices, review trend history, and create annual plans as required by vendors.
  4. Create and implement an annual staff work plan for the fall sale program and Girl Scout cookie program.
  5. Create, implement, and execute all aspects of the Girl Scout cookie program annually.
  6. Execute the Girl Scout fall sale program annually.
  7. Plan and execute the delivery of nuts, candy, and cookies to troops in partnership with vendors, delivery agents, and volunteers.
  8. Implement approved cookie inventory management procedures and provide ongoing oversight of the council's product program inventory.
  9. Oversee product program data and reporting, as requested.
  10. Work with Director of Member Support and Director of Recruitment as needed during product programs to best support volunteers and staff.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, public administration, or a related field
  2. At least three years of management and supervision experience is required.
  3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  4. Experience in managing programs with volunteers.
  5. Experience developing and managing a budget.
  6. Experience with inventory management.
  7. Ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines and to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  8. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed is required. Nights and weekends are often required at various times during the year.
  9. Ability to travel to other GSSEM service centers and various locations around the council.
  10. Ability and willingness to travel overnight for GSSEM business, including Girl Scout trips and professional development conferences.
  11. Ability to work primarily on-site. This position is often not conducive to remote work.
