Major Responsibilities/Principal Accountabilities:
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate volunteers.
Schedule volunteers for programs and activities at The Helm, including Meals on Wheels, special events, and other initiatives requiring volunteer support.
Develop and maintain relationships with community volunteer organizations, businesses, and agencies.
Track volunteer hours and maintain accurate records; utilize data to prepare reports.
Recruit new volunteers through community events, email, social media, and other engagement strategies.
Conduct volunteer background checks in accordance with organizational policies.
Organize volunteer recognition programs and appreciation events.
Coordinate Holiday Giving Tree and Electronic Device Tutoring programs.
Manage the Home Safety and Home Chores Program and schedule checks.
Manage and submit volunteer time sheets to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
Manage the Garden Committee, coordinating volunteers and projects.
Prepare and submit all required monthly reports.
Represent The Helm at community meetings and events, including Senior Expo, Grosse Pointe Woods Senior Commission, and similar outreach opportunities.

Empathy and compassion when working with seniors and volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Demonstrated interest in and experience working with seniors.
